04/04/2010
Longtime BRIDGE Lacrosse Dallas board member, Cricket Griffin, was
inducted into the US Lacrosse North Texas Chapter Hall of Fame on
Saturday, March 20 as part of the festivities associated with the
Patriot Cup games at Southern Methodist University's Ford Field.
In announcing her induction, Tom Fitzsimmons, President of the N. Texas Chapter of US Lacrosse, remarked that Cricket has been hugely instrumental to the growth of lacrosse in North Texas and the Highland Park boys Lacrosse Association for over ten years. Since the beginning of her lacrosse involvement, Cricket has been a part of almost every event in the North Texas area as a volunteer working tirelessly on event days, dragging goals across fields and coordinating players, coaches, officials, volunteers and sponsors.
Among the lacrosse events she has shepherded are: the Men's Collegiate Club Lacrosse Championships in 2007 and 2008, the first ever professional Major League Lacrosse game at Texas Stadium in 2008, and the Holiday Roundup and Halloween Shootout Lacrosse Tournaments, the latter being the largest lacrosse tournament in the state.
Cricket has served on the boards of the Chapter and of Friends of US Lacrosse North Texas Chapter. She is also the past President of the North Texas Youth Lacrosse League.
Congratulations, Cricket!

"This was [my son's] second year playing lacrosse; lacrosse has made him more responsible.... He tries to make every game and to be on time for every game. He's very responsible with this unlike most other things. It keeps him in shape, too. All the running wears him down."
