Bridge Lacrosse Dallas Hires Its First Executive Director
02/18/2010
BRIDGE Lacrosse Dallas has hired its first ever Executive Director, Marna Wohlfeld. Marna has an extensive background as a non-profit consultant, grant writer and proposal writer. She has worked for Baylor Cardiac Rehab, the World Craniofacial Foundation and the Dallas-Haiti Project, creating strategic fundraising initiatives, planning and executing fundraising events, writing grants and developing partnerships with companies like Starbucks and American Title to advance organization initiatives. Marna graduated from Harvard College and received her MBA from UT Austin's DFW program. She has also worked in sales and marketing.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Marna's experience and background working on our behalf at BLD," said Edie Lycke, President of the organization. "Her quick perception of what needs to be done first, her knowledge of where to find grant money and how to get it, her experience in producing fundraising events and her work with big donors make her a perfect addition to the BLD team."
"I am very excited to work with BRIDE Lacrosse Dallas. I am looking forward to growing BLD's programs, raising valuable funds to support the organization and impacting the children and young adults on BLD's teams in a very positive way."
"This was [my son's] second year playing lacrosse; lacrosse has made him more responsible.... He tries to make every game and to be on time for every game. He's very responsible with this unlike most other things. It keeps him in shape, too. All the running wears him down."
